Basic Information
Diethofencarb is a very unique systemic fungicide that is effective against black spot, anthracnose, penicillium rot, gray mold, and many other diseases. It works really well in controlling gray mold in vegetables. It shows negative cross-resistance to benzimidazole fungicides (like carbendazim). This fungicide can effectively control grape and vegetable diseases caused by gray mold pathogens that have developed resistance to carbendazim. It can also control cucumber gray mold, stem rot, beet leaf spot, tomato gray mold, and is used for fruit preservation, like preventing apple penicillium rot. Although it has negative cross-resistance with benzimidazole fungicides, mixing the two may lead to strains resistant to both compounds.
