Chemical Properties:
Pure product is colorless crystals. Melting point about 136°C, vapor pressure 2.7×10^-5 Pa (20°C). Solubility in methanol and ethanol is 25 g/L, in acetone, ethyl benzene, anisole 300 g/L, in dichloromethane, dimethylformamide, 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone 500 g/L, and water solubility is 13 mg/L (20°C). Not prone to oxidation, generally stable under normal storage, unstable under alkaline conditions, non-corrosive. Industrial product melting point: 126-130°C.
Uses:
A broad-spectrum, contact fungicide. Works on spores, mycelium, and sclerotia, inhibiting spore germination and mycelial growth. Almost non-systemic in plants, classified as a protective fungicide. Effective against Botrytis, Sclerotinia, Alternaria, Monilinia, and Corynespora. For controlling tomato early blight, start spraying about 10 days after transplanting: use 50% wettable powder at 11.3-22.5 g/100 m², spray once every 2 weeks for a total of 3-4 times. For gray mold, start before disease onset: use 50% wettable powder at 5 g/100 m², spray every 10-14 days (especially during flowering and fruiting), 3-4 times, improving tomato yield and quality. For seed treatment, use 100-200 g active ingredient per 100 kg of seed to prevent bunt caused by Tilletia species and wheat loose smut. Use 50% wettable powder at 4 g/L solution to soak potato seed tubers to prevent black scurf caused by Rhizoctonia solani. Onion and garlic bulbs treatment can prevent black rot. Use 50% wettable powder at 11.3-15 g/100 m² during early and full bloom of rapeseed to prevent sclerotinia disease. Alternating or mixing with other fungicides is recommended to avoid resistance.
Iprodione is a contact fungicide effective against spores and mycelium, controlling diseases caused by Botrytis, Corynespora, Sclerotinia, Monilinia, and Alternaria. It can also be used for seed treatment.
Broad-spectrum protective fungicide.
Precautions:
[1] Avoid using with strong alkaline agents.
[2] Avoid long-term continuous use to prevent resistance; alternate or mix with fungicides of different action.
