Over the past twenty years, we have been deeply involved in pesticide research and technological achievements. Focusing on pesticide research and development, production, and sales, providing reliable agricultural protection solutions for domestic and international markets.
This product lowers the surface tension of liquids, disrupting the stability of bubble films and causing existing foam to break rapidly.
It has strong defoaming and antifoaming properties, requiring only a small amount to achieve the desired effect.
The product is chemically stable, highly resistant to oxidation, and can be used in acids, bases, salts, electrolytes, and hard water.
Common types include silicones (polydimethylsiloxane and its derivatives), polyethers (EO/PO block copolymers), polyether-modified silicones, mineral oils, and more.
Performance Uses
During the production of pesticide formulations, processes like stirring, shearing, and grinding can introduce a lot of air, and with the presence of surfactants, a large amount of foam is easily generated. Foam can significantly reduce equipment capacity, affect stirring and pipeline transfer efficiency, interfere with accurate filling, and even cause product appearance defects. This product can quickly eliminate foam in the system, ensuring smooth production and improving efficiency. At the same time, removing foam prevents active ingredients from floating on the surface or distributing unevenly during filling, ensuring uniform content between batches and stable product quality.
This product not only quickly breaks foam but also has good anti-foaming properties, continuously suppressing foam regeneration over a long period. This effectively prevents foam from forming during storage due to shaking or temperature changes, which is especially important for water-based formulations like suspension concentrates (SC) and emulsifiable concentrates (EW) that need to remain uniform over time. Long-term foam control prevents issues like accelerated oxidation, active ingredient degradation, and microbial growth during storage, ensuring the product keeps its physical quality and effectiveness throughout its shelf life.
This product has good heat resistance, maintaining defoaming activity over a wide temperature range. Silicone-based defoamers are particularly suitable for high temperatures over 150°C, such as during the milling of suspension concentrates where mechanical friction causes heat. Moreover, this product remains stable across a wide pH range, making it suitable for both acidic and alkaline formulations. While performing defoaming, it does not affect the basic physical and chemical properties of the foaming system, ensuring that the stability, active ingredient content, and effectiveness of the formulation are not compromised.
This product is suitable for processing and filling of various water-based pesticide formulations such as suspension concentrates (SC), emulsifiable concentrates (EW), microemulsions (ME), soluble liquids (SL), and aqueous solutions (AS). It can be added directly as a formulation component or used as a bucket-mixed additive applied as needed. It is effective in controlling foam during production as well as eliminating foam caused by water quality or additives during field application. The recommended dosage is generally 0.05%–0.5% of the total formulation, and the exact amount should be determined through testing based on the formulation system.
Precautions
– This product is an additive component, and you need to choose the appropriate defoamer based on the system properties and foam situation. It is recommended to determine the optimal dosage through testing.
– When used as a formulation component, the recommended amount is generally 0.05%–0.5%, and the specific dosage should be determined by testing according to the formulation system.
– Some defoamers may separate after being stored for a long time. Stir well before use; this usually does not affect the performance.
– If pre-dilution is needed, add water slowly into the defoamer while stirring moderately. Do not use high shear, and the dilution order cannot be reversed. The diluted solution should be used within 24 hours.
– Store this product in a cool, dry, and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight, and do not place it near heat sources. Some products may freeze below 0°C.
– After opening the package, reseal it promptly to avoid contamination or evaporation of active ingredients.
– Strengthen personal protection during spraying operations to avoid contact with skin and eyes.
